Open Water Diver

Ready to take the plunge into scuba diving?
This is where it all starts.

The next scheduled Open Water Diver class begins 21 April.

What skills will you gain?
In multiple pool and open water sessions, you will practice skills including:

  • Moving in the water with ease
  • Breathing normally under water
  • Controlling buoyancy so you neither descend nor ascend
  • The easiest ways to enter and exit the water
  • Getting water out of your mask or mask clearing

Will I need to buy my own equipment?
We happily provide all the equipment you need for your Open Water class. However, we do recommend that you consider purchasing at least your own mask, snorkel, fins and boots. If you buy them or any other equipment while you are a student you will receive a 15% discount.

How much does the course cost?
$275 (after tax this is $284.55)

All course fees include:

  • Open Water Diver certification card (internationally recognized)
  • All academic class sessions held in our ‘interactive classroom’
  • All pool sessions held in our on-site indoor heated pool
  • Complete equipment rental for pool sessions and open water dives
  • Air fills for pool session and open water dives
  • Student kit that contains your Diver Manual, No-decompression tables, and a standard dive log
  • Usage of Open Water Diver Multi-media DVD
Course fees do NOT include:
  • Entrance into the scuba park for your certification dives

What do I need to bring to class?
You will need to bring your complete student kit and a pen or pencil to every class. You should bring a swimsuit and towel every time and be prepared to get in the water...that's what this is all about! Additionally, before your first class, you should have read and watched the video for chapters 1 and 2 as well as completed the knowledge review questions in the back of each chapter.

What if I can’t make a class?
Missed classes can be made up at a later date at a cost of $25/class for academic sessions and $50/class for pool sessions. Arrangements must be made with the instructor. Alternatively, we offer a custom scheduling class for $375 that will adhere to your schedule.
